Leadore Beltora
Singer of the
Abyssal Wind

Leadore Beltora is a mysterious Viera Witch with an unnervingly close connection to the Abyss. The woman's aura seems to crackle with the chaotic Aetheric power carried within. She is an exceptionally talented Black Mage, naturally gifted in the Magical Arts. Leadore has also been sighted carrying a greatsword, clad in ebon armour, and flanked by inky shadow; hinting at the power of a Dark Knight in addition to her more Arcane profession.

She is often spotted in her home of Ul'dah, wandering the streets with her husband, or people-watching at the Quicksand. Leadore offers private tutelage in Magic for the children of nobility, as well as anyone else willing to pay. Many years of tutoring and working with the wealthy and noble elite of Ul'dah has earned Leadore the title of Rectoress.

Age: 77
Race: Viera (Veena)
Gender: Female
Marital Status: Married
Orientation: Straight
Origin: Skatay Ranges, Othard
Profession: 'Witch' (BLM/DRK)
Occupation: Tutor, Mercenary Captain, Rectoress
Personality: Leadore is rather cool and cunning, yet sultry at first impression. She is cutting with her tongue, and is known among friends, family, and peers for her wicked wit. As controlled as she appears on the surface, one tumultuous maelstrom of a temper lies beneath. She is as cold fire; burning and freezing at the same time. Leadore is elegant in her manner and is capable of being charming... when she wants to be.

APPEARANCE

Leadore's eyes are strange. One - her right - is a natural shade of bright, ruby red; not unusual for Viera. However, Leadore's left eye is kept permanently covered by an eyepatch or himation. When engaged in combat, if casting a particularly powerful spell or ability, the covering may burn away to reveal a brightly glowing purple Arcane symbol in place of where Leadore's iris and pupil once were. The socket of this eye appears to be filled with pure shadow. Her hair is long, reaching her mid-back in length, and appears to be a natural ombre of black and white in colour. It is wild and wavy, seemingly untameable by comb.

A little over middling height, with a curvaceous hourglass build, Leadore holds a sultry, womanly physique. She bears the usual slightly digitigrade legs of the Viera, and long, fluffy leporine ears. Her ears are mostly black with white tips, matching her hair. Leadore bears no obvious tattoos or markings, other than a light dapple of freckles across her face, and some beauty spots here and there.

Leadore's hygiene is immaculate; thanks to the aid of magic, she is kept well presented and pleasant. She tends to wear a distinctive perfume of lavender and sandalwood. The only 'wild' thing about Leadore appears to be her wavy, curly hair, and her thick, shapely eyebrows. The witch favours attire of black and white hues, with the occasional addition of grey or crimson for added flair. Her style is somewhere between elegant and 'witch-chic'.

Kazen Worlwright - Husband
>> Hyur, Dragoon <<
Leadore's Husband of 40 years. They are still disgustingly in love with each other. Around her Husband, Leadore almost seems a different woman. Despite the fact that Kazen is a Hyur, he does not seem to age - if he does, it is very slowly. Rumours have spread that it is either Leadore's magic extending his lifepsan, or Kazen drinking the blood of a Dragon. Mayhaps it is both.

Uhtred Worlwright - Son
>> Half-Viera, Dragoon <<
Leadore's son is her pride, joy, and exasperation all at once. She loves her son dearly, and is proud of his power, intelligence, and charismatic nature... though wishes he would not get into so much trouble.

Kuprene - Adopted Daughter
>> Moogle <<
Leadore's adopted Moogle daughter. She loves her fiercely, and regularly visits her at her new home with the other Moogles of the Twelveswood. The two share a deep and unshakable bond.

Age 0: Born in the Skatay Range of Othard, to the Vรถlva of the Mistborne Tribe, Erja, and a Wood-Warder named Reinadel Blackpelt. Erja was plagued with terrible dreams (which she believed to be prophetic) that her daughter would birth only sons, and destroy the โ€˜naturalโ€™ balance of the Tribe.

Age 1-16: Raised to one day become her motherโ€™s successor as the Tribeโ€™s Vรถlva. Leadore discovered an innate talent for magic with the coming of her first moon blood, at age ten. Leadore performed minor feats of Thaumaturgy at this age, seemingly instinctually. Her power was carefully guided by her Mother from then on, as she learned the rites and rituals of her people. Leadore leads a relatively unremarkable, normal childhood.

Age 17: Leadoreโ€™s ability to manipulate aether has grown. She is a capable fledgling Thaumaturge; the ability to call upon Hydaelynโ€™s destructive elemental powers comes naturally to her. Try as she might, Leadore finds herself unable to cultivate any manner of healing magic. She meets her first paramour โ€“ another Viera, a male named Dagda, three years her senior, when he and his old mentor venture into the village to collect another ward. Her mother is furious, and in fear of her dreams coming to pass, she forbids their union. This does little to stop the pair from doing as teenagers do; and, as forbidden fruit is the most desired, the two pursued each other with greater fervour. Leadore is distant and hateful of her Mother.

Age 18: Leadore is plagued with strange dreams of darkness and death, blood and fury. These do not scare her; rather, they call to her. They feel like home. Her ability to perform simple Thaumaturgy is not enough โ€“ she needs more. Leadore is not content with feats of elemental manipulation and inane ritual, and begins to obsessively wonder what more there is out there.

Age 20: The dreams have not ceased, and only grow to a fever pitch. Leadore awakes in the night, drenched in sweat, roaring bloody battle cries, and chanting strange words. The darkness seems to whisper to her, calling to her. It is soft and kind, unlike her Mother. In the grips of one of her wild dreams, in a walking slumber, Leadore ventures from her village. In this bedlam haze, Leadore murders a wandering adventurer. She rouses to a corpse, burnt down to bone, hours away from her home and bed. Before her stands a figure of pure shadow, with brass eyes. He offers knowledge and power; power, for blood and shadow. Leadore takes his hand, and the Shadow takes her eye.

Age 21-22: With the aid of the Brass-Eyed Shadow, Leadore begins to practice the Black Arts, ripping the very Mist from the world around her to fuel her arcane profanities. She loves the power and mystery, and delves ever deeper. She has outgrown her small Tribe, and leaves her home behind, seeking ever more knowledge. Her Mother is furious, and instead banishes Leadore from the Tribe โ€“ she can never return. Leadore ends her affair with Dagda, leaving the man heartbroken as she flees Othard. She casts off her birth name, and adopts the name Leadore.

Age 23-8: Leadore travels through Hingashi for a brief time, before setting sail for Eorzea. She travels the land, honing her Black Arts. She leaves a string of jilted lovers in her wake, growing quickly โ€˜boredโ€™ of her various paramours. Life is filled with adventuring and odd jobs. She continues to cultivate her ravenous desire for knowledge, seeking it anywhere and everywhere she can. By 28, Leadore has become a powerful Black Mage. The dreams of blood, death and vengeance return.

Age 29-33: Stealing away from the world, Leadore enters a period of deep introspection, as she confronts the abyss within. It sings to her, and she carries its tune well. It felt simple and natural, just as weaving magic did. She falls into a deep and wild fury in her isolation, allowing whatever entity that drove her โ€˜darknessโ€™ to settle just beneath the skin. Leadore begins to unlock the power of a Dark Knight. She begins to learn the song of the Abyss, treating with the deepest and darkest parts of herself. Sometimes, these forays into the abyss-within ended poorly. With no teacher to guide her, Leadore had to learn to control and channel this โ€˜Darksideโ€™ through trial and bloody error. Leadore has become a Witch; not a purveyor of potions and petty hexes, but a wielder of blood and shadow.

Age 34-6: Leadore, feeling confident in her ability, moves back to proper civilisation. It was at this time Leadore met the man who would become the love of her life โ€“ Kazen Worlwright. A shipwrightโ€™s son from Limsa Lominsa, Leadore met the man whilst contracted as a Mage by a group of mercenaries in Ulโ€™dah. The two felt an undeniable connection to one another, that ran deeper than anything else the pair had ever seen. They work as mercenaries for a time.

Age 37: Kazen and Leadore marry on a cool night in Ulโ€™dah. The ceremony is filled with the friends they had made over the years, and it is joyous. Leadore is radiant in her crimson dress. Kazen takes up a position as a trainer of young Paladins.

Age 38: Leadore is heavily pregnant with the coupleโ€™s first child. She is confronted with a harsh reality; that she would, one day, outlive her Husband, and likely her child. She is distraught and inconsolable, unable to bear the thought of losing her soulmate and walking the world alone. The Brass-Eyed Shadow has been with her all these years, and once more, offers a deal โ€“ Kazen would live as though he had the blood of a Viera. A few moons later, Leadore gave birth to a stillborn son.

Age 39-43: The Witch begins to take up tutoring as a profession, whilst still taking the odd mercenary contract. She teaches magic to any with enough talent to sling a basic spell, and enough gil to pay her fees. Eventually, her reputation as a tutor grows, and her services are more and more often contracted by nobility, earning further coin and status. She and her Husband continue adventuring and taking up the odd mercenary contract in their free time.

Age 44: Leadore gives birth to her son, Uhtred. He seems to be the perfect mix of his parents. The couple are overjoyed to have a happy and healthy baby. The year is filled with sleepless nights and endless love.

Age 50: After many years of tutoring noble clients (or those rich enough to afford the services), swelling her reputation and influence, Leadore earns an official title โ€“ Rectoress. She and Kazen purchase an apartment near the Gold Court in Ulโ€™dah, to use as a secondary living space, and a place for Leadore to conduct her lessons in a more prestigious location. Life is good.

Age 51: Leadore and Kazen have been trying to conceive more children, though find that they are unable. The Brass-Eyed Shadow - her constant companion - reminds her that this was the price she paid for the extension of Kazenโ€™s lifespan; that he was โ€˜kindโ€™ enough to allow her one baby. Leadore understands this, though dreams of all the other children she would never have.

Age 56: Uhtred is twelve years old. He does not seem to have the same innate magical talent as his Mother. He begins lessons in martial combat with his Father, and takes up the lance โ€“ the other weapon favoured by dear old Da โ€“ for the first time. Leadore and Kazen could not be prouder.

Age 57-65: Uhtred leaves the family home at age 19 to start his own life. Leadore is sad to see her son leave their home, but proud of him for venturing out into the world as a capable and intelligent young man. She and her husband decide to travel and enjoy some downtime. It is during these travels that the couple find an orphaned Moogle child, frightened and alone. They adopt her, and name her Kuprene, or Rena for short.

Age 67: The Calamity occurs. Though not religious by any means, Leadore, Kazen, Rena and Uhtred all pray for the realmโ€™s salvation along with the other denizens of Eorzea.

Age 70-74: Kazen leaves the Order of the Paladins. During this time, Kazen and Leadore travel regularly to Ishgard. Kazen is contracted as a Dragon-Hunter by Ishgard for his prowess with the lance, and becomes a fully-fledged Dragoon. Leadore offers some tutoring in Ishgard, but is met with suspicion by many in the heavily religious nation. She continues giving her regular lessons in Ulโ€™dah when they are home. Leadore and Kazen take Rena to the Moogles of the Shroud, to live among her people, now that she is older.

Age 75-76: Kazen joins the Immortal Flames and quickly ascends the ranks. He is favoured for his prowess, knowledge, and tactical ability. Leadore occasionally lends her services to the Flames after her Husband has talked her up to the Company, and suggested her whenever a powerful Mage is needed.

Age 77: Present day. Leadore and Kazen continue to lead a happy life, with plenty of visits from their son and daughter (even if Leadore thinks itโ€™s not often enough).

Hi! You can call me Freyja. I've been roleplaying for 16+ years in various formats (online, TTRP, LARP). The general rule is I'm open to RP if I'm tagged up in Player Search. However, if I'm not, I'm likely doing content / otherwise busy and will likely not respond.

What I will roleplay:
Stuff I will roleplay, feel free to ask if something is not on the list.

โ€ข Adventure
โ€ข Dark Themes / Grimdark
โ€ข Slice-of-Life
โ€ข Mystery / Horror
โ€ข Personal Story Arcs / Long-term RP
โ€ข Short-Term RP

What I will not roleplay:
Stuff I will not roleplay, do not ask.

โ€ข E-RP of any kind
โ€ข Romance (character is happily married)
โ€ข Excessively edgy shit. (Yes, I'll RP grimdark, but don't be one of those cringe people and make it so dark it's grimderp. There's a difference between good and bad grimdark)
โ€ข Roleplay with OOC minors. Nope, sorry, if you're under 18, please do not contact me. I am well over 18 and I am not interested in RP with kids.

Also note, because apparently this needs to be said: Please stop talking about or asking me weird shit. Just because I play a Viera does not mean you should message me with weird sexual crap. Stop. It's unwelcome and cringe.
